                        <abstract language="eng"><p>Smart agriculture and food biotechnology are emerging as powerful approaches for addressing the interconnected challenges of climate change, population growth, resource scarcity, declining soil health, food loss, malnutrition, and global food insecurity. Modern agricultural systems increasingly integrate precision farming, artificial intelligence, remote sensing, Internet of Things technologies, robotics, drones, and data-driven decision-making to improve the efficiency and sustainability of crop and livestock production. At the same time, food biotechnology contributes to the development of improved crop varieties, biofortified foods, microbial bio-inputs, functional foods, alternative proteins, and advanced processing technologies that can enhance nutritional quality and food safety. The integration of smart agriculture with biotechnology enables more precise use of water, fertilizers, pesticides, energy, and other agricultural inputs while supporting higher productivity and improved resilience to environmental stresses. Digital monitoring systems can identify crop stress, disease outbreaks, nutrient deficiencies, and changing environmental conditions at an early stage, whereas biotechnological innovations can provide biological solutions for improving crop performance, soil fertility, nutritional value, and food preservation. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">The global food system is facing unprecedented challenges due to rapid population growth, climate change, water scarcity, land degradation, declining biodiversity, and increasing pressure on agricultural resources. The demand for food is rising while the availability of productive land and water is becoming increasingly limited. Conventional agricultural practices, although responsible for major improvements in food production, often depend heavily on external inputs and may contribute to soil degradation, water pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and biodiversity loss. These challenges have created an urgent need for innovative approaches capable of increasing food production while protecting natural resources and improving the nutritional quality of food [1]. Smart agriculture and food biotechnology have emerged as two important components of the modern agricultural transformation. Smart agriculture uses digital technologies and data-driven approaches to monitor agricultural systems and improve the precision of farm management. Technologies such as remote sensing, satellite imagery, drones, artificial intelligence, robotics, automated irrigation, and Internet of Things-based sensors enable farmers to make more accurate decisions regarding crop production and resource use [1]. Food biotechnology, in parallel, applies biological knowledge and modern scientific techniques to improve crops, livestock, microorganisms, food processing, nutritional quality, and food preservation. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">Food biotechnology provides powerful tools for improving the productivity, adaptability, nutritional quality, and resilience of agricultural crops. This integration of field data, genomics, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence can accelerate the development of climate-resilient and nutritionally improved crops.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Food security depends not only on the production of sufficient food but also on its accessibility, nutritional quality, safety, and stability. Smart agriculture can improve productivity by enabling more efficient use of agricultural inputs, while biotechnology can enhance crop resilience and nutritional value. Together, these technologies can help maintain food production under increasingly unpredictable climatic conditions. Climate-resilient crops developed through advanced breeding and biotechnology can tolerate drought, salinity, heat, and emerging pests and diseases. These approaches are particularly valuable for smallholder farmers, although their successful adoption requires affordable technologies, appropriate infrastructure, technical training, and access to reliable information.</p>
